  • 16 oz coconut or almond drinking milk, 
  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1–2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • A pinch of cinnamon powder,
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or raw honey 
  • 2+ Tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon almond butter



  1. First, heat the milk on the stovetop or in the microwave. 
  2. Place chai tea, turmeric powder, and cinnamon in a pot or heat-resistant jar and steep for 3-4 minutes.
  3. If using the stovetop, let the milk come to a quick boil then reduce and simmer for 2-3 minutes, 4 minutes altogether.
  4. Remove tea bags and whisk them together.
  5. Pour the chai tea and turmeric powder mixture into a blender with 1 tablespoon of chia, honey or maple syrup, almond butter, banana, and protein. 
  6. Blend together and pour into a large jar. 
  7. Mix in 1 tablespoon of chia seed (add an extra 1 tbsp if you want a chia pudding-like texture). 
  8. Place the jar in the fridge to cool and thicken; 1 hour up to overnight.
  9. Pour the smoothie into 2 bowls and top with more cinnamon, and chia or oats (if desired).
