The choice of Queen Elizabeth, Jawaharlal Nehru and many more - the signature Second Flush Darjeeling Black Tea from the Okayti Tea Estate has been held in utmost regard in tea circles around the world. This bold and rustic invoice has been plucked at the cusp of Summer and Monsoon, and has all characteristics of a true Muscatel tea.

The green leaves are full and juicy. After processing, they turn coppery black and consist of a fair sprinkling of prized delicate tips. The brew is of a deep amber color and makes a full-bodied cup that is both mellow and rich. As you sip, the first notes of sweetness immediately tell you that the tea is exquisite. Soon after, you will taste the unmistakable delicious notes of tropical fruits, typical of a pure Second Flush Darjeeling tea. The cup finishes off with hints of floral muskiness and toasted nuts.

What is the best way to make Black Teas?

The best way to make a perfect cup of signature black tea is to get 200ml of freshly-filtered water to a boil (90-100 degrees celsius) and add 2 grams (0.07 oz) of your favorite black tea to it. Switch off the heat, cover it, and let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes depending on how strong you like your cup to be. Strain into a cup and sip while hot! The best time to have a cup of black tea is the morning or early evening. Since black tea has considerable caffeine (lesser than coffee) and hence should be avoided before bedtime.
