    Tasting Notes

Courtesy of one of the most popular tea gardens in the district of Kangra in the Western Himalayan region of India, this spring black tea is a treat in itself. Quite unlike tradtional teas from Kangra, this tea is an aromatic delight. The light golden liquor begins on a notes of forest floor and silk-tree blossom with hints of fresh legumes. The tea finishes on a refreshing note of cooked vegetables mixed with fruity notes that linger throughout the finish. Overall, a heady, smooth, and sweet vegetal spring black tea that starts your day on a light note!

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the shelf life of products?

All Vahdam Teas have a shelf-life of 3 years from the Date of Picking/Harvest. The 'Date of Expiry' are mentioned on the bottom of all our boxes.

    Where are your Teas from?

We source our teas from over 150 renowned plantations and small individual farms in India. Within the country, we procure from 5 popular tea-producing regions, namely: Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri, Kangra, and Sikkim.

    How are the Teas packaged?

After sourcing our teas directly from plantations within hours of harvest, we bring them to our state-of-the-art tea facility in New Delhi, India. The teas then go through rigorous rounds of cleaning, sorting, quality testing to remove any impurities/dust/foreign particles. Post 10+ quality checkpoints for leaf size, aroma, liquor, flavors etc. these are vacuum-packaged in opaque aluminum-lined bags using sophisticated machinery. These vacuum-bags are then stored in a dehumidified, temperature-controlled warehouse which ensures that the teas remain garden-fresh and maintain their character. Further, required quantities are packed in smaller vacuum-sealed packs which are boxed in the retail boxes and then sent over to our own delivery centers located in various parts of the world.

Our aim is to give back to the places and people that make VAHDAM® India who we are. Ensuring an educated and enlightened future for the children of our tea workers is just our way of keeping up that intention.

And that is why, 1% of our revenue is directed towards the education of our farmers’ children in India.

Putting our people and our planet first, always.

It's time for a better way to drink tea. VAHDAM® India is also a Climate Neutral & Plastic Neutral certified brand. We measure our plastic & carbon footprint every year. We then offset it via our investments in plastic recycling, renewable energy & energy efficiency initiatives in India, respectively.

    Is it green or black?

I am with Evi - this is a green tea. I had to check the box to make sure I hadn't been shipped the wrong tea.

    Not a black tea

If you are a fan of green teas I guess this should be fine for you but I was disappointed by it as I was expecting a black tea.
First time I made it I simply followed the instructions on the label and the tone of the tea was certainly much lighter than the one of the picture above. The result was a tasteless tea!
Today I used twice the amount and I achieved the dark tone but the brew had that bitter hint that green teas have.
Even the oolong teas that you have, of which my favourite is the High Mountain Darjeeling Second Flush Oolong, seems way more fermented than this one!

    First order Bliss

This was my first order from Vahdam. If future orders go this smooth, I look forward to a long lasting relationship. The Dharamsala Mann Kangra First Flush is a pleasant Light all day tea. I was surprised that it’s a black tea. The teaser sample with my order was also a nice touch. Looking forward to ordering more of your teas. Thank you
