The Pyramid Tea Infuser is made of 100% stainless steel 18/8 grade 304, including the chain and hook. Besides using a variety of tea leaves, it is absolutely safe to use a variety of other ingredients like citrus fruits and spices of any kind, which will not alter the taste of your tea.

How many tablespoons of tea does the infuser hold?

The capacity of a tablespoon can vary, typically ranging from 3 to 4 teaspoons. Our Pyramid Tea Infuser generally holds between 2 grams (0.07 oz) to 5 grams (0.18 oz) of tea. This amount can differ slightly based on the type and density of the tea. For instance, white teas have a lower density and take up more space, while chai teas have a higher density and take up less space.

Is the mesh fine enough to filter out herbs and spices?

This infuser features a micro-mesh filter that is versatile for any type of infusion, including all varieties of loose-leaf teas. Please note that ultra-fine particles such as coffee grounds, finely powdered spices like cinnamon, or ultra-fine tea dust may pass through the mesh. However, for all other ingredients, the micro-mesh filter effectively strains out debris, ensuring a clean brew.
